Layage Hair

Whitney Rouse already knew a lot about Bee Sam’s signature layage hair service before ever visiting the colorist at the downtown Vancouver salon on Main Street. In fact, her best friend Alix had one done with Bee Sam the previous year and couldn’t stop raving about the lasting results. The layage hair technique is like a more subtle version of the ombre with a more natural and graduated effect. The client’s hair is laid flat on a surface with their head tilted back giving the colorist full artistic control over how the lightener is applied. Hair is divided into sections on a large, flat surface and the color or lightener is painted onto the hair strands using a delicate brush. During the process, the layage from the client’s perspective tends to be relaxing and some clients have been known to fall asleep during their appointment. The results are what makes this technique so sought after. Results tend to be natural with subtle tones for a natural lifted and blended look. The gradient is even more graduated, seamless and all the more alluring. Whitney really pulls off her layage well. Her hair goes from blonde to blonder with her custom look. Amy Garza captures these wonderful shots of the model’s hair.
