Gray Blending Vancouver WA
Gray Blending at the Vancouver, WA Salon
Gray blending is a hair color service in which a color specialist will use various hair coloring techniques to blend gray hair with natural hair color. The gray blending technique achieves a more subtle and natural-looking transition between the natural hair color and gray hair. This helps to avoid the upkeep of constantly retouching the incoming gray hair by fully covering up the grays with a different color. Gray blending borrows from a number of proven hair coloring techniques which may include balayage, lowlights, highlights, micro-highlights and foiliage. The colorist may also opt to use a toning glossing and demi permanent color instead of a permanent color in order to get the desired result and hue.

Top Gray Blending Questions
Here are some of the top questions Bee Sam gets asked regarding the gray blending services she offers at the Vancouver, WA salon:
Should I wash my hair before my gray blending appointment?
It is wise to come to the salon with a clean and dry head of hair. Color tends to take better on clean hair. The only exception to this rule is for bleaching on the scalp in which it is good to come in with hair that isn’t already shampooed. This will create a barrier for the scalp creating a safer lightening process. However, don’t fret if you have already washed your hair. Bee Sam has plenty of solutions around the salon which will accommodate each and every process.
Can you do gray blending on dark hair?
Yes, gray blending is possible on dark hair. Grey blending hair with highlights on dark hair will show off your silver streaks in a way that complements your natural color. Your grays become enhanced instead of concealed. For a subtle look if you only have a few gray hairs, the colorist can try micro highlights or a gray blending balayage.
If I have been coloring my hair at home for years with boxed dye, can I get a gray blending?
If you have previous color in your hair whether that be from a home boxed color or professional color from the salon, it may require a journey to get gray blended. First your colorist will have do a color correction to try to remove any previous color before starting the gray blending process. However, if your hair is previously damaged or compromised, this may not be possible safely until the hair grows out. Also, depending on what was used for your box color, some color is not as easily removed from the hair and it may not be safe to do a gray blending project.
